An ultra-bicycle race is like the life. It is to short to wait for everything to go the way we expect things, to go the way we want them to go or that the situations turn out to be just as we want it.
The one who believes that positive thoughts lead to positive results will be just as wrong as someone who believes that negative thoughts lead to negative results. Who expects results should turn on common sense and act instead of worrying.
You've done it, when you can laugh about it and see all the serious problems from a different point of view.
The simplest things can make you happy, if you can feel great enthusiasm for them.
At night you can usually hide all the volume around you down and concentrate fully on yourself.
When you move and create new situations, those coincidences arise that can lead you to your happiness.
Faith in what you are and what you can be determines what you can achieve. Your procedure decides which coincidence will find you.
In the ultracycling race there are stressful, hectic moments where things have to be done quickly and there are times when nothing remarkable happens for hours. The contrast between calm and speed is good, because neither is good for a long time. In life balanced productivity and effectiveness are well, too. Keep the balance between hectic everyday life and phases of sorting your thoughts is good.
The people who want to stop you, if you have started with a new thing, usually just does not get along with the fact that you are to set them in motion to keep pace with what you have started with.
Although the track is predetermined in the ultracycling race, it is not a predictable way. In the mountains the weather can change quickly, at night it can come to unexpected temperatures, the traffic can be much more as you planned and you have to take the things as they come. Likewise, the paths forged in life are not always what we imagine. You can not plan everything, every path brings it risks and usually it is enough to know the direction and to plan only short-term steps.
Life happens where you take great risks. If you go on a journey to ride a few thousand kilometers of bicycle, you can do many things wrong, fail, die, in the end you take great risks. But big projects always allow you to grow beyond yourself, to collect happy memories and valuable experiences.
Sitting a few thousand kilometers on the biycycle and continue driving means to go through good and bad phases. It helps immensely to perceive the difference between how it feels and how it really feels. Often the pain feels much better or worse than it really is. It is always said that it is important to listen to the signs of the body, but you have to interpret them correctly. The art is not to overrate everything.
It makes you unique not to go the predetermined steps, but to go your own way through life. Ultracyclists are often referred as crazy because there are only a few people in the world who ride thousand kilometers on bicycle in one go. You have to live with the criticism, even if most of your preferences, opinions and peculiarities displease.
Where you stand can depend on various factors, but where you really stand, you know only when you are about to fail. In the ultracycling race, you only know how long you have done, until it gets really hard, and the mileage factor is no longer the factor it takes to reach the finish. It can happen that altitude, health, temperature or other are the limiting factors. So it is important to never be too sure in life that everything works just because one thing works well.
You usually find happiness in exactly the places where you least expect it. So every day we run ourselfes to own better products, more exotic journeys, more affectionate people and situations that we do not have available at the moment. In ultracycling race you have only yourself, the bike and the tireless fight against the road. Basically, you do not have much and yet there are the most emotional moments. They arise precisely because you only have yourself and maybe it just takes only you to be happy.
Who accepts the situation and respects how it is leads a more pleasant life. Ultracycling teaches you that self-overestimation quickly leads to failure and that it's better not to take yourself too seriously. Exaggerated pride and egoism confuse harmony and appropriate behavior. However, happiness is not in pretending to know something, but to be aware of what you know and just act on it.
Without the weight of experience, the things we are talking about and what we say do not have value. A big misconception of many people is that theoretical knowledge is just as valuable as experience. However, knowledge loses its meaning when it can not be assigned to experience from reality. It is very risky to depend on sources whose words derive from theory. Gathering experience is not always easy, but it's the safer way to happiness.
Sometimes it is good to take time to think. Time to think is probably the greatest gift that ultracycling brings with it and what sets it apart from everyday life. It means rethinking the way you live. It's not about improving or changing everything - it's about evaluating what's good and what's bad for the future. There is a lot of time to think in the race and therefore the future after the race is usually characterized by very positive events.
And then it takes patience. We always expect quick results, otherwise no one would buy the 21-day weight loss challenge or the six-week six-pack program. Ultracycling has a lot to do with endurance, and the art of building it depends on complex factors.
Thinking that others are responsible for your own happiness leads your happiness to depend on others. To take too much responsibility, however, means that it can not go forward any more. We can not control everything at the same time. The art is to find a good way between both things.
Always comparing yourself with others distracts the focus from your own actions and only leads to dissatisfaction with yourself. No matter how well you try to be, in any way you will always be the bad one. To appreciate one's own strengths is a much better feeling than to act in constant comparison to others. Ultracycling races are so long that everyone deserves respect, making it to the start line and into the race. Ultimately, it is always the question of how your own happiness should be measured - the happiness of others or how far you have outgrown yourself.
Just thinking about problems rather than looking for solutions often leads to nothing good. In ultracycling race, there are often many problems in a relatively short time. It is therefore important not to bury oneself too deeply in the problem chains and to find solutions as fast as possible for everything. It is important to solve the problems and not just think about how to solve the problems.
Happiness often comes from being aware of the little things and trying to recognize the big opportunities. Adversity is caused by the neglect of little things. In the ultracycling race you will always be aware of what seemingly small things are worth a lot. For example, in the race there is no shower, no bath and rarely the chance to wash hands. Of course it will fill you with happiness if you can use these things in everyday life again. The awareness of recognizing great opportunities in small things does not increase directly, but it requires a positive attitude that usually goes hand in hand with it.
Ultracycling is difficult to learn. There is much you can learn with experiences that have to be collected first. Sometimes life punishes mistakes pretty hard, in ultracycling it's part of trying it out and trying it again.
Talent is good, as well as hard work is good. Talent and hard work are unbeatable.
In the team, it is a goal to find some seconds, but it's about much more !! :)
In ultracycling you sometimes suffer for days. And somehow it's over. Other days seem to just fly by. As in everyday life too. It is therefore important to understand that it is not about how easy or hard the day is. In the race, it's all about building the belief that all suffering is finite, so there's enough reason to go on. Having given up simply means not having developed enough belief in the goal. The picture shows the last hard meters of a long low in the 4,721-kilometer long Race across Europe - After France had been crossed and Germany's border was reached, it went better on !! :)
It is important to do the things you love, because there is a lot of luck into mastering self-imposed challenges. Therefore you also say: The way is the goal or the goal is the way. If you do not like the way to the goal, ask yourself if the goal is really the right one. Ultra cycling is a good example because you do not ride a few thousand kilometers of bike to reach the finishline. What should happen at the finish and what should change? What is really changing when you reach your goal and is it the journey worth?
Think, Analyze, Plan, Test, Do, Repeat, Continue - and never stop !! :)
It's not the distance you conquer, but ourself. On the first kilometers of the 4.721 kilometer long Race across Europe !! :)
